Usually, you need some serious gear to take beautiful shots of animals, especially out in the wild. To live and deliver these pictures to the Web, you sometimes need a gun, too… or a fast and resilient car. Anyway, this is not about going out and getting back with some animal photos, but about grabbing some free animal photos from the Web to use with your projects!

I hope you’re not one of those who only code, because coding without ever working with images is like cooking without using vegetables – it can be done, but something’s missing. To make your web development work complete, sometimes you may need some animal photos, and the resource I have found for you is called exactly that way – Animal Photos.

The quality of the animal photos here goes from poor to excellent, but the good part is that you can use them for free in any project you need. Image resolution is also something you have no idea about until you open the image – it could be a small 500X400 pixels picture, or a glorious 4000X3000 one, although I didn’t find such a generous image yet.

All in all, Animal Photos currently has 6581 images for you to choose from, and new ones are constantly added. I know this isn’t really an impressing number, and I found some of them to be practically useless, but since it’s a free resource and some of the images are really worth the time wasted to reach them… I think you should definitely bookmark this site, you never know when you may need some animal world imagery…

Compatibility: the site has a really basic design, and so it works with any browser you ever heard of, probably even text-based ones; all the images I enjoyed were JPEGs, so I guess this shouldn’t be a problem for anyone, either
