Nothing wrong with that, apart from the part that, in a lot of situations, you also need additional resources, like textures, fonts, or even sounds. Since we talked about the first two a few times already, I think now is the right time to give you some info on how to get free sound effects to use in your projects.
The Freesound Project
The Freesound Project is a website that tries to gather as many Creative Commons-licensed sound resources as possible, but – at east according to their own words – this is a “sounds only” library, so music loops/songs won’t be available here. All right, so only sounds, and no music – better than nothing, especially since, from my Internet user point of view, websites with music that automatically kicks in aren’t the smartest choice…

Currently, The Freesound Project hosts no less than 69489 files, and new ones are being added on a daily basis. For each sample, you can award a rating, and you also have the ability to quickly preview it, as well as viewing the waveform.

Apart from individual samples, The Freesound Project also gives you access to a bunch of sound packs, and since everything’s for free… I guess I said it all. Just remember that, if you need some sounds to use in a project, you shouldn’t forget about this great resource!

Compatibility: most sounds come in WAVE format, and the website works with any browser you can think of (again, I wasn’t able to test it with a text-based one, so feel free to drop a comment below if you have… or if you want to say anything else, of course!)
